This adventure is designed for those who want to experience the grandeur of the Everest region with a moderate level of effort and a shorter time frame.
The Everest Panorama Trek is ideal for trekkers who dream of seeing Mount Everest but are limited by time or looking for a less demanding experience. While it doesn’t take you all the way to Everest Base Camp, it offers some of the most spectacular views of the Himalayas in a shorter itinerary. This trek showcases the culture, landscapes, and natural beauty of the Everest region without ascending to high altitudes. It’s perfect for beginners, families, and anyone with a passion for the outdoors who wants to experience the magic of Everest without the intensity of a longer trek.
The Everest Panorama Trek takes you on a short but rewarding journey through the Sagarmatha National Park, starting with the thrilling flight to Lukla. From there, the trail meanders through lush valleys, rhododendron forests, and Sherpa villages, offering ample opportunities to experience the unique culture of the Khumbu region. You’ll pass by the famous villages of Phakding and Namche Bazaar, with a highlight visit to the spiritual Tengboche Monastery. The trek offers mesmerizing views of the world’s tallest peaks without reaching extreme altitudes, making it an excellent option for trekkers seeking a taste of the Everest experience.
Greetings and welcome to Kathmandu, the vibrant capital and cultural heart of Nepal! Our friendly team will be there to greet you upon your arrival and ensure a smooth transfer to your hotel. Later in the evening, we will provide a briefing on the final details of your upcoming trek, and we recommend an early night's rest in preparation for the exciting journey ahead.
You'll begin your trek with a gentle walk through Chaurikharka village, followed by a descent towards Dudhkoshi Ghat (2,530m/8,300ft). The trail runs alongside the Dudhkoshi River until you reach Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft), where you will be spending the night to acclimatize. Phakding is a popular resting point, so take advantage of your free time to explore the village and its surroundings.
Starting with a hearty breakfast in Phakding, we will set off on our trek to Namche Bazaar, the largest Sherpa village in Nepal. Our first challenge is to cross a long suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, followed by a pleasant walk through a stunning pine forest that leads us to Monjo, around two hours away. As we approach the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park, we will undergo a brief permit check before continuing our descent to the Dudh Koshi River, where we will come across Mani stones. Afterward, we will stop for lunch in Jorsale before beginning our ascent to Namche Bazaar. On the way, we will cross two bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge, and face a steep uphill climb. However, our efforts will be well worth it, as we will be rewarded with an incredible view of the majestic Everest from Namche Bazaar.
An early start is on the cards today as we embark on a hike to the Everest View Hotel, situated about an hour above Namche. From here, you'll be able to soak in an incredible panoramic view of the Himalayas, with the mighty Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam taking center stage. Take some time to relax and enjoy a hot coffee before we continue our trek to the quaint Sherpa villages of Khunde and Khumjung. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the Khumjung Monastery, which is said to house the scalp of a Yeti. After exploring the villages, we'll make our way back to Namche via the small airstrip at Shyangboche.
Today's trek is a photographer's delight, with plenty of opportunities to capture stunning shots of the scenery. The trail is not too challenging, with only a few steep ascents and descents, allowing you to focus on getting the perfect shot. Along the way, you will encounter many beautiful sights, including stupas, prayer flags, mani walls, and majestic mountains like Ama Dablam.
As you approach Tengboche Monastery, the trail becomes dusty and switches back. However, the panoramic views from the monastery make the trek well worth it. If you are fortunate, you may even be able to attend a service and light some butter lamps, for which a small donation is appreciated. Don't forget to capture some photographs of this spiritual and serene location.
After breakfast at Tengboche, we begin our descent towards the Dudh Koshi River. The trail takes us through rhododendron and pine forests with stunning views of the mountains. We cross the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River and trek through several small villages before reaching the village of Monjo where we will be spending the night.
Monjo is a peaceful village with a few teahouses and shops. Take some time to explore the village and interact with the locals. You can also visit the nearby Monjo School, a project established to provide education for the children of the local community. Enjoy a hearty dinner and a good night's sleep as we prepare for the next day's trek back to Lukla.
Today marks the final day of the trek as we make our way back to Lukla. We’ll start early, retracing our steps along the Dudh Kosi River, passing through several villages and crossing over the suspension bridges we’ve become familiar with. The trek is mostly downhill, and we’ll take our time to enjoy the scenery and soak up the last bit of mountain air. We’ll stop for lunch in one of the villages along the way and continue on to Lukla, where we’ll have a chance to celebrate the completion of our trek with our guide and porters. Overnight in Lukla.
After breakfast, we will take a short flight back to Kathmandu, where our staff will transfer you to your hotel. You can spend the rest of the day exploring the city or relaxing at the hotel. In the evening, you can enjoy a farewell dinner with your guide and staff to celebrate the completion of your trek.
The day will start with a visit to Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, one of the oldest and most revered Buddhist shrines in the country. It's situated atop a hill, and a climb to the top rewards you with a magnificent view of Kathmandu Valley.
Next, we'll head to Boudhanath, the largest stupa in Nepal and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists and a bustling hub of Tibetan culture and commerce.
After lunch, we'll visit Patan Durbar Square, a historic site with temples, palaces, and courtyards that reflect the cultural and architectural heritage of the Kathmandu Valley. It's also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-visit destination for anyone interested in Nepalese culture and history.
The day will end with a farewell dinner where we can reminisce about the adventures we've had and the memories we've created during our time in Nepal.
We hope you had an incredible time exploring the breathtaking landscapes and rich culture of Nepal. Today, we will escort you to the airport for your departure flight. If you have any feedback or suggestions, we would love to hear them. We wish you a safe and pleasant journey home and hope to see you again for your next adventure in Nepal.
